Review by Michael Cashman

Michael, the album by Dick Bakker, is a tribute to the legendary pop icon Michael Jackson. The album features ten tracks, all of which are instrumental versions of some of Michael Jackson's greatest hits. The album was released in 2009, shortly after Michael Jackson's death, and aims to pay homage to his musical legacy.

The album opens with a beautiful rendition of "Billie Jean," which showcases Bakker's expertise as an arranger and conductor. The track starts with a slow, haunting intro, which gradually builds up to a crescendo, with the strings and horns coming in full force. The result is a powerful and emotional tribute to one of Michael Jackson's most iconic songs.

The album continues with other classics such as "Thriller," "Beat It," and "Smooth Criminal," all of which are given the same treatment as "Billie Jean." Bakker's arrangements are intricate and nuanced, and he manages to capture the essence of each song in his instrumental versions. The album also features a beautiful rendition of "Heal the World," which closes the album on a poignant note.
